Boxing Day Buses

As an extra little Christmas present for everyone, we’ve worked closely with our contacts at Go North East and are paying for additional bus services in the evening, allowing you to come and play for longer on Boxing Day!
So whether it is catching the latest film release, escaping the turkey sandwiches with a meal in one of our restaurants, or some festive fun in the arcades, you can do so at intu Metrocentre on Boxing Day.

We’ve paid for the following late evening services, departing from the centre’s bus station at the times below:
• 6 to Burnopfield, Dipton, Annfield Plain and Stanley at 2217 and 2317
• 10A to Ryton, Crawcrook and Rockwood Hill at 2238
• 10B to Ryton, Crawcrook and Prudhoe at 2208
• 47 to Rowlands Gill, Chopwell, Blackhall Mill and Consett at 2304
• 49/49A to Blaydon and Winlaton at 2205 and 2220
• 97 to Whickham and Lobley Hill at 2202 and 2332
• The X66 will continue to run half-hourly at XX10 and XX40 until the 2310 to Gateshead

However, it does not stop there! We’re also paying for the following late evening services departing from Newcastle (Eldon Square or Monument) / Gateshead Interchange at:
• 21 to Birtley and Chester-le-St at 2125 (Eldon Sq) / 2135
• 21 to Birtley, Chester-le-St and Durham at 2300 (Eldon Sq) / 2310
• 56 to Wrekenton, Concord and Sunderland at 2215 (Monument) / 2224
• 58 to Felling and Heworth at 2047, 2147, 2247 (Monument) / 2058, 2158, 2258
• X1 to Wrekenton and Washington Galleries at 2200, 2320 (Eldon Sq) / 2210, 2330

Stagecoach in Newcastle will operate a special Boxing Day timetable between 1000-1800 on services 1, 7, 10/11, 12, 22, 30/31, 36, 38, 39/40, 62/63, 100, X47 and X88.
• The last service 7 to Freeman Hospital will depart at 1710, to Kenton Bar at 1830
• The last service 100 express to Monument will depart at 1841

Arriva do not provide any services on Boxing Day across the North East
