Car Parking

Car Parking

Parking at intu Metrocentre is FREE and there are almost 10,000 free parking spaces in four colour-coded car parking areas (Blue, Green, Yellow and Red car parks), which link to the colour-coded malls. Each of our car parks also has designated disabled and accessible parking facilities.
Shops, restaurants and leisure activities are just a short walk from all car parks. intu Metrocentre would like to remind guests that whilst the colour coded main car parks are free to use all day, both the MetrOasis (Toby Carvery, Harvester, Krispy Kreme and Starbucks) and intu Metrocentre Retail Park have a maximum stay of four hours. If you have any queries regarding parking please contact metrocentre.information@intu.co.uk.

The Red & Green car parks generally close around 1 hour after trade with the Yellow & Blue Car Parks staying open until around 00.30.
Additional parking is also available at the Riverside Car/Coach Park, western Riverside Route (A1114 Handy Drive). Access to the Centre is via the bridge link to the Blue Mall. If you are visiting the cinema please use the Yellow car park or yellow multi storey.

intu Metrocentre is one of the safest places to park. Our Car parks have been awarded the Park Mark certificate which is given by Northumbria Police to car parks which have achieved the standards of the Safer Parking Scheme. This includes CCTV cameras, police hides on the car park roofs and a team of Security Officers who are on constant patrol. Please assist us and DO NOT LEAVE shopping bags or valuables on view, lock them away.

Electric car charging points are located on 3rd floor of the Yellow multi storey car park and near the main entrance in the Green car park. If you do not have your own CYC card, Charge Your Car access cards are available from the Yellow and Green customer services desks, a £20 deposit and form of ID is required.

The UK's first publicly available quick charger has recently been installed in the Green car park. This can charge cars to 80% capacity in around 20 - 30 mins.
Motorbikes

Anyone travelling on a motorbike should park in a dedicated motor cycle parking bay located in Red, Yellow and Green car parks.
