Autumn themes from your high-street favourites
It’s thrilling for the style team to see new autumn stock starting to come into the stores. It’s great to get a sense of the themes and looks for the new season.
Topshop’s ‘Margo’s World’ is a collection of quirky skirts, high neck and collared blouses with smart coats.
Think Gwyneth Paltrow in The Royal Tenenbaums. Another theme is their ‘Sport’ collection. Easy wear soft tailoring and sport inspired pieces, mixed with vibrant prints.
Miss Selfridge’s have been inspired by all things country and western. Their ‘Saloon Girl’ collection includes Native American prints, denims and embellished pieces.
Our stylist pick was the unusual and decorative purple top with fringing at £49.00.
Tassled shoes and scarves complete the look.
Look out for their ‘Rebel Doll’ kilts and tartan pieces coming soon!
Warehouse have some stunning collections in. What really took our eye was their brand new baroque collection.
They had a beautiful embroidered jacket for £70.00 which is decorated with birds.
Their oriental collection is a soft mix of pale pinks/minks and florals.
Check out this soft luxe blouse at £40 for detail and sophistication.
Warehouse are also doing a ‘Totem’ range which again is inspired by Native American patterns and embroidery.
This skirt at £40 would be a great piece to team with other patterns.
Dorothy Perkins are going with a ‘5th Avenue’ theme for their more formal trends this autumn. Greys and camels are mixed with the dark reds and burgundies broken up with animal prints and pale pinks.
This burgundy dress is £30.00 and necklace £15.00. Their ‘Bleecker Street’ casual wear has a colour palette of khaki/beige/greys and burgundy.
Although the range is casual it is highly embellished which gives an edge to their quilted and knitted pieces.
This cream sweat top retails at £24.00 and embodies their Bleecker Street collection.
Watch out for more autumnal collections over the coming weeks!
