When it comes to creating a show stopping party look, nobody does it better than the screen sirens of Hollywood. Whether they’re opting for all out glamour or keeping it youthful, stars such as Penelope Cruz, Halle Berry, Jennifer Lawrence and Christina Hendricks know how to pull out the stops when they have to. Here, we look at some of their most successful red carpet looks – and how you can achieve them. EYES: Strong, clearly defined brows, lash lengthening mascara and a light wash of colour over the lid, give Halle a bright-eyed look for the red carpet. To copy this, sweep a light reflecting – but not too heavily pearlised – shade over the entire lid. FACE: Halle’s skin simply glows in this shot and she’s wisely avoided falling into the trap of securing her foundation base with too much powder. To copy this look, use a light base and a multi-bronzer like this one from M&S. Not only will it enable you to shape and contour the face, but it will give you a golden glow and just enough shimmer to ensure you’re camera ready all night long. As skin gets older it can lose its elasticity and can be prone to dryness, so look for a cream, like this one from L’Occitane. HAIR: Halle’s hair has a fabulous natural wave which is even more pronounced when worn in her signature cropped cut. Wavy hair can, however, be inclined to frizz, so look for nutrient rich products designed to nourish, soften and smooth.
